AFL coaching legend Dennis Pagan has warned Hawthorn that trading champions such as Sam Mitchell may “cause the whole club to fall down”.
Speaking to EON Sports Radio’s The Lunch Box on Friday, Pagan said, “whoever’s making the decisions here could end up with egg on their face. If you haven’t got unity in a football club, you’ve got nothing.”
While many AFL journalists have praised the Hawks for their aggressive approach to the trade period, Pagan believes they’ve gone too far.
“People can say what they like, but [Mitchell] has been pushed out the door. He’s handled himself like a real man and made it look like it was a mutual [agreement].”
