NRL great questions Carney’s return

Sydney Roosters legend Anthony Minichiello is not sure whether a club will take the risk to sign Europe-based Todd Carney, should the former Canberra, Sydney and Cronulla star make a return to the NRL.

“He probably wants to come back, but will a club sign him up,” Minichiello told EON Sports Radio’s The Morning Rush on Thursday.

“We all know Todd loves the drink and loves a good time.

“It’s whether the coach, the staff and the group of players think that he can fit into the culture of a team. I’m not sure if any team is willing to take the risk.”

Carney, who won the Dally M Medal in 2010, was let go by Catalans Dragons earlier this week and hasn’t been linked to any clubs just yet.
